Used in many high purity applications(such as pharmaceutical, nuclear, petrochemical, food grade etc) where the “scratch marks” associated with internal pipe plugs are unacceptable. The reverse grip action of the mechanical jaws tighten down on the pipe or tube OD as pressure is increased making these a very safe means of hydrostatic testing of pipe or tube. OD “scratch marks are very easy to clean up if necessary as the grippers normally leave only thousandths of an inch marks. Designed to be hand tightened only (larger diameter units come complete with tightening bar), these pipe plugs are very quick and easy to use. Test pressures of 10,000 PSI are capable through 2 ¼” sizes, and 5,000 PSI through 6”.
